Day four.
I am such a keen bean I grab a front row seat in the auditorium with plenty of time to spare. This is the reason we are in Sydney. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be published by Hay House and attending the workshop gives me a chance to submit a proposal. First up is the lovely, tiny Cheryl Richardson. She graces the stage with her incredible presence and as she speaks I feel comforted that yes, I write in an easy to read, accessible personal way, that I have had a long career and I have worked hard so why not put my wisdom out there and see how it lands.
I feel ready to submit the best book proposal for Fairytale Love. How to love happily ever after so that they get that it’s a well written, word of mouth worthy book.
Leon Nacson Managing Director of Hay House Australia and author of 3 great dream books is just a delight. Bronnie Ware is heartfelt and talented and the story of her rise to fame with her bestseller The Top Five Regrets of the Dying is inspirational. Both Bronnie and Rachael Bermingham (author of 7 bestselling books) speak of commitment, self publishing, marketing and success. What I feel after such a great day is, ready. My book is jam-packed with inspiration and advice. I have something to say that can change the world and I am so ready to fly my own flag.
I am inspired when I meet up with Wolfie. His day was art-filled and happy. He explored Newtown, Kings Cross and Potts Point. The Art Gallery of NSW with it’s Bienalle delights was his favourite. He loved the location in the middle of a park and the statues were amazing and the inside was a beautiful sophisticated and sensational space oozing with the likes of Picasso and Rothko.
We venture to The Fish Shop at 22 Challis Avenue, Potts Point, for the best dinner out in Sydney yet. It’s fresh and fun and kitted out in a funky Cape Cod style. Kristian Savio wins the award for Sydney hospitality. He has all the H’s going on. Happy, hands on, helpful and handsome. Take his recommendation and begin with the dumplings. You won’t be disappointed.
